Elon Musk Fan Page Got Verified by Facebook

Elon Musk Fan Page Got Verified: A fan page of Elon Musk on Facebook has more than 155,000 followers got verified by Facebook. In violation of its terms, the company did not endorse anything less than a fan page. Elon Musk is not on Facebook, the obvious reason is he doesn’t want to be because Elon Musk thinks ‘it’s lame‘.

The best thing about Elon Musk’s Facebook page is that it clearly shows that it’s just a fan page, not Elon Musk himself. The main confusion should come from the page name which is “ElonMuskoffici“. This might mislead the public and they will think it’s a legit account with a verified blue tick badge on top.

The about section of this fan page highlights that this page is a fan page and it uploads Elon Musk’s tweets. The exact bio is mentioned below:

Musk owns a Tesla Roadster car in 0001 (the first one off the production line) from Tesla Motors, a company in which he is an early investor. The Roadster is a battery-electric sportscar with a 220 mile range.

This is a fanpage, uploading tweets etc from him

The page is also not active. There are around 11 posts on the page that include photos of Elon Musk and cryptocurrency memes. The page owner clearly a huge fan of Elon but not an active user on this fan page.

The page Transparency feature by Facebook is a great feature that reveals the page history. This fan page was created in 2019. Its first title was “Kizito Gavin”, which represents the footballer Gavin Kizito. The page history also reveals that its username was changed six times with repeat name changes (no idea how).

Getting verified on Facebook isn’t as easy as it seems. One needs to submit parts of their identity and proof that the profile has an authentic presence of a famous personality. But, some users find a way to get a verified badge without filling out any forms that require various proofs of identification.

Conclusion

Social Media platforms are making it very tough and introducing strict verification rules for their profiles and pages, but users are one step ahead all the time and find a way to cheat the system somehow. What are your thoughts on the topic and do you think Facebook should have at least checked the history of the page.

I think facebook workers must be very happy and they must be thinking the real Elon Must has finally joined Facebook. How stupid a social media platform can be to perform such a foolish thing.
