MediaTek announced a new flagship processor, the Dimensity 9000 at the MediaTek event on the 16th of December. Dimensity 8000 appears that MediaTek is prepping the launch of the latest addition to their Dimensity family, the Dimensity 8000.
Redmi K50 and Realme GT NEO3 are Coming With Dimensity 8000
No information about the Dimensity 8000’s specifications or benchmark tests has been leaked, looking forward to the arrival of a new processor in Redmi devices. According to a comment by a Weibo insider, the “MediaTek Dimensity 8000” will be available in 2022 in Redmi K50 and Realme GT Neo3. Realme, on the other hand, will be releasing its Realme GT Neo3 with the Dimensity 8000 under its hood too.
Dimensity 9000 vs Dimensity 8000
It will be interesting to watch how the Redmi Flagship K Series copes with the move to MediaTek’s Chinese-made Dimensity processors. The Redmi K50 Pro has a greater processing speed of 9000 and the regular K50 is 8000.
This comes as a surprise as, during the Redmi K series, Redmi has never used MediaTek for its flagships prior to 2021. Redmi only once used MediaTek processors for its flagships, which was the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. The Redmi K40 Series debuted back in 2021 and has two variants: the flagship 888 (Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro Plus), and the 870 (regular model).
In 2022, there may be a chance the MediaTek chip will finally stand up to Qualcomm’s as both Oppo and Redmi have confirmed that they plan to use the Dimensity 9000 chipset in their upcoming flagship phones. Henry Duan, Vice President at Oppo, has revealed that their next Find X flagship will be the first to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9000.
At the same time, he also revealed that Redmi will continue to use Snapdragon chips. Either way, it’s clear that both companies are sticking with Qualcomm chips for a while. Redmi has announced that they will be using the Dimensity 9000 in Redmi’s new K50 series.
We are expecting Realme and Redmi will be launching the Realme GT NEO3 and the Redmi K50, which will both be equipped with the Dimensity 8000 SoC. This processor has not yet been introduced in the processor industry, so many are looking forward to seeing how the Realme and Redmi smartphones will perform in comparison to the competition. We will be sure to update our readers on the topic as soon as a release date has been announced.Spread the love
