The Samsung Galaxy Note range is being phased out in favor of the company’s new foldable device. According to a report, Samsung has no plans to launch the new Note device by 2022. Samsung also skipped the launch of any new Galaxy Note devices in 2021.
A South Korean tech blog, ETnews, reported that Samsung has canceled the production of the Note line for next year. The news that the Samsung Galaxy Note is dead has recently come out, but new reports say it may be coming back to Samsung’s future plans.
“Samsung Galaxy Note” To Be Replaced With Galaxy Z Fold
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold is one of the first foldable that are coming out. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has everything you could want. It nails the hardware, the software integration AND it’s affordable, too. There’s been a lot of talk about the foldable screen on the new Galaxy phone, and today Samsung also released a stylus for it. In light of these developments, Samsung has decided to stop its production of the Galaxy Note series.
The report says that Samsung manufactured 3.2 million units of their Galaxy Note 20. Samsung is still going to have a Note lineup, just not the newest one.
News sources say that Samsung shipped around 12.7 million Galaxy Note devices in 2019 and 9.7 million units in 2020. Samsung recently announced that they will start shipping their Galaxy Fold 3 in 2022. There are other large-screen devices available, but it’s easy to see that the Galaxy Fold will be replacing the Note lineup for many users.
Looking at the new Note series, they’re hard to distinguish from Samsung’s S-series. The S series and the latest Fold3 support S Pen, which was only present in Note devices before now.
In our screen size tests, the Samsung Galaxy Fold3 had a larger screen than the Note 20. On top of that, the S-series and the Fold lineup are both more polished & future-proof than the current Note. They also represent better value for money.
Conclusion
This is sad news for Samsung Galaxy Note Series lovers, and I am one of them. I would rather go for Samsung Galaxy Note Series over the Samsung Galaxy S series.
