Snapdragon 898 VS Dimensity 2000: Here we can see an in-depth comparison of the latest chipsets from both giants. According to listing and leaks, Snapdragon has announced their newest chipset, the Snapdragon 898 and MediaTek hopes to compete with their new device called the Dimensity 2000. Take a look below for a closer look at how they stack up against each other!
Snapdragon 898
The Snapdragon 898 is coming with a mega core of 1 x 3.0Ghz ARM Cortex-X2, the large cores will consist of 3 x 2.5Ghx and 4x 1.79Ghz for the smaller ones. The GPU is Adreno 730.
Dimensity 2000
The MediaTek Dimensity 2000 is very similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 with the same core numbers of 1 × 3.0GHz Arm Cortex-X2. The main difference is in the large cores that are 3 x 1.85Ghz and small ones measure at 4 x 1.8Ghz. There’s one more difference in the GPU which is Dimensity Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.
Snapdragon 898 VS Dimensity 2000
Qualcomm processors are incredibly powerful, but if MediaTek processors are instead to be used in smartphones, they can actually work equally as well for phone buyers. Both are capable of multitasking exceptionally due to the 4nm process designs that both manufacturers have chosen – although there is a slight difference in clock speed with MediaTek’s New True Octa-Core CPU running at 3.0GHz X2. Snapdragon 898 uses Samsung’s foundry, MediaTek however used TSMC for their True Octa-Core CPU. Qualcomm has much more to offer when it comes down to GPU performance since their Adreno 505 GPU is far superior to MediaTek’s P12/P10 GPU line up which has been used until now. Both the processors are based on 4nm technology.
Conclusion
As far as the specs go, both appear to be fairly similar. The real deciding factor will be how they perform when actually put into practice in different devices. We all know that companies work hard to make their chipsets stand out from one another, but it might be a toss-up here because of the collaboration between ASUS and Qualcomm to create the ultimate mobile chipset. There is not much we know about these two components just yet, but we think we’ll see them come together sometime in Q1 of 2022 so I’m supportive of either option as long as it doesn’t burn a hole through my wallet!
