These devices are definitely the ones consider if you need to buy a flagship killer for the smallest amount of money. But what are the differences between the two models? Design
In terms of design, the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro are identical. Even though the batteries in these two phones differ, the dimensions and weight remain the same. We even get the same colors: black, grey, blue, and green. Gorilla Glass Victus protects the handsets’ backs and fronts. IP53 certification makes them dust and splashproof, and they come with a fingerprint reader on the side. Despite being equipped with an infrared port, they do not have an audio jack.
Display
These two flagship phones share the same display. The Redmi K50 and K50 Pro have an OLED screen with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. You won’t find a better Quad HD+ display at this price point. Printed Gorilla Glass Victus protects the display. No fingerprint reader is integrated into the display. But the phones have stereo speakers for great multimedia entertainment.
Specs & Software
Their processors differ between the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro. MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset built at 5 nm and running at a maximum speed of 2.85 GHz fuels the former, while Mediatek Dimensity 9000 SoC built at 4 nm operates at a max of 3.05 GHz. They are both high-end mobile platforms, but the Dimensity 9000 provides a higher processor and GPU performance because it is the best Mediatek SoC. Furthermore, the Redmi K50 Pro comes in 12 GB RAM and 512 GB UFS 3.1 native storage configuration. The phones run MIUI 13 on top of Android 12.
Camera
Both flagship killers have the same secondary sensors, but the main camera is different. Redmi K50’s vanilla model has a 48MP sensor with OIS, while the Pro model has a 108MP camera with OIS. With the latter, you can take more detailed pictures in any light. There are two additional sensors: an 8 MP wide-angle and a 2 MP macro. A 20 MP front camera records 1080p video at 120 frames per second.
Battery
In comparison to its Pro variant, the Redmi K50 only has a better battery capacity. Though it is more affordable, it offers a longer battery life thanks to its larger 5500 mAh battery. The Pro model, however, has a 120W charging capacity (as opposed to only 67W).
Price
The Redmi K50 launches in the Chinese market for €340 / $376, while the Redmi K50 Pro costs €430 / $476. At the end of the day, these two phones differ by only four points. Those are the processors: Dimensity 8100 and 9000, respectively. Next came the main camera: a 48MP main sensor and a 108MP lens. Further, the battery capacity is 5500 mAh and 5000 mAh. Finally, the charging speed.

In spite of the fact that they are both powerful and flagship devices, both of them have been designed with gaming and cameras in mind. In terms of their performance, they are both great. On the other hand, the pro version is equipped with a 108MP camera, while the normal version comes with a 48MP camera. As compared to the normal Redmi K50, the pro variant is a little more expensive.
