Nothing Phone (1) – Design, Release Date, Price Revealed!

Carl Pei has founded a new company called Nothing. He is best known for having founded OnePlus. His company was immensely successful. OnePlus eventually merged with OPPO, but he left before that happened. He left OnePlus Nord as his last project with the company. He returned with a bang. Nothing was launched last year with its first product being wireless earphones named Ear (1). In March, the Nothing Phone (1) was finally revealed after months of speculation.

Design

According to Nothing, the Phone (1)’s back panel will have a translucent appearance. Furthermore, the back panel will display the internal components beautifully. Wireless charging is another feature they confirmed. They will use recycled aluminum in the frame.

Price & Launch Date

The Nothing Phone (1) is to be launched on the 21st of July, according to the latest report via Allround-PC. A price of around 500 Euros is also expected. The information was provided by a European dealer. However, take this information with a grain of salt.

Partnership With Telcos

No partners have been announced for India, the UK, or Germany. In India, Nothing Phone (1) will be available through Flipkart. Moreover, the UK launch of their first phone will be in partnership with O2. Additionally, they have partnered with Deutsche Telekom AG in Germany as an exclusive retailer.

Vision

In order to reveal their plans, Nothing held a virtual event. They reiterated their intention to not be a company that produces audio. Additionally, Carl Pei revealed that the company’s vision was to build an ecosystem of products to compete with Apple. Apple, he claimed, offered seamless integration that no other brand could match. There is nothing that aims to change that and create a seamless and cohesive ecosystem. Products from Nothing will not be the only part of this ecosystem. The company will instead partner with other brands to integrate their products better and more seamlessly.

Additionally, they have partnered with brands such as Qualcomm, Sony, and Samsung. We can probably assume that chipsets, camera sensors, and displays will come from these brands. We are seeing more gimmicks than ever before because the revolution of mobile phones has ended. Nothing Phone (1) aims to bring about a revolution in the mobile phone industry.
