Previously it was reported that Xiaomi can launch its upcoming Xiaomi 12 series flagship smartphones on December 12 in China. Now the reports are revealing that Xiaomi may launch these smartphones by the end of December 2021. Last year Xiaomi Mi 11 5G was launched in China in December, which became the first phone powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset, and Xiaomi became the first brand to launch a device with this chipset.
We were expecting that Xiaomi will be the first company to announce its smartphone powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship smartphone, but a reliable source hints that it may not be true this year.

A screenshot of Xiaomi China’s internal document was uploaded on Weibo which indicates that the company will hold a press conference on December 28 to announce a new product. We are expecting Xiaomi’s Mi 12 and Mi 12X launch in this event being held on December 28.

Even the most trusted and reliable source Digital Chat Station claimed that Xiaomi’s product launch event is scheduled for the end of December. He also claimed that Xiaomi may not be the first brand to introduce a smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. According to the reports the Xiaomi 12X will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset and the Xiaomi Mi 12 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 SoC. Both the devices will be featuring a curved edge AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi 12X is rumored to be a 6.23-inch display.

The first variant Xiaomi 12X is equipped with a 20MP selfie camera, and both the models have a 50MP main rear camera. The 12X device may be powered by a 5000mAh battery with the support of 67W rapid charging and 33W fast charging. The 2nd device Xiaomi 12 will have the same battery capacity and 100W rapid charging support.
